Patna: The fourth edition of the National Moot Court Competition was held at Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Bihar, bringing together law students from across the country.
Organised under the aegis of the university’s moot court committee, the event was conducted under the guidance of vice-chancellor Faizan Mustafa and faculty convener Vijay Kumar Vimal.
A total of 52 teams from various universities participated in the national-level competition, presenting arguments on contemporary legal issues, particularly in the fields of cyber law and artificial intelligence.
Addressing participants, Mustafa said moot court competitions play a crucial role in bridging theoretical learning with practical understanding of the judicial process, while enhancing research, reasoning and advocacy skills.
Following multiple rounds of arguments and evaluation, a team from the University of Delhi emerged as the winner.
The judging panel included Justice S Muralidhar (retired chief justice of the Orissa high court), Shalini Sati Prasad of J Sagar Associates, Ashok P Wadje of Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad, Kunal Kapoor of Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, and Prof Manvendra Kumar Tiwari of CNLU.
Participants demonstrating outstanding performance were recognised with awards.
Officials said the collaboration with the state’s information technology department reflects a growing focus on integrating law with emerging technological domains, equipping students with skills relevant to digital justice systems.
