Patna: The Congress has announced a 39-member state election committee in Bihar as it prepares for the forthcoming assembly elections.
The move, approved by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and formalised through an order issued by general secretary KC Venugopal, places the state unit under collective leadership ahead of the polls.
Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram, legislative party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and legislative council leader Madan Mohan Jha are among the senior figures included in the panel.
Other members named to the committee include Jitendra Gupta, Shakeel O Zaman Ansari, Sanjeev Prasad Tony, Motilal Sharma, Kapil Dev Prasad Yadav, Anshul Avijit, Brajesh Kumar Pandey, Jamal Ahmed Bhallu, Manju Ram, Azmi Bari, Nagendra Kumar Vikal, Kailash Pal, Rajesh Rathore, Nirmalendu Verma, Kaiser Ali Khan, Prabhat Kumar Singh, Kamaldev Narayan Shukla and Kumar Ashish.
The list also features Jamotri Mamta Nishad, Shakeel ur Rehman, Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Vishwanath Saraf, Ramesh Prasad Yadav, Shashi Ranjan, Subodh Mandal, Nadeem Akhtar Ansari, Neetu Nishad, Fauzia Rana, Ram Shankar Kumar Pan, Uday Manjhi, Rekha Soren, Tarak Chaudhary, Vishwanath Baitha, Sunil Kumar Patel, Sadhna Rajak and Khushboo Kumari. In addition, all Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs, All India Congress Committee secretaries and Congress Working Committee members will be permanent invitees to the body.
