Patna: Students preparing for undergraduate admissions have been granted a final opportunity to apply for the Common University Entrance Test, after the National Testing Agency reopened the CUET UG 2026 application portal. Candidates who were unable to complete registration earlier can now submit their forms and pay the required fee until February 26, 2026, with officials emphasising that no further extensions are expected.
The application process initially ran from January 3 to January 30, with payment deadlines subsequently extended multiple times in response to student requests. Following continued appeals, the agency reopened the portal on February 23, allowing fresh registrations. Authorities have urged applicants to avoid last-minute submissions, citing the likelihood of heavy website traffic closer to the deadline.
A significant change in this reopening is the absence of a correction facility. Officials confirmed that once the form is submitted, candidates will not be able to edit personal details, subject choices, examination centre preferences or uploaded documents. Students have therefore been advised to carefully review all information before final submission to prevent complications during later stages of the admission process.
The examination itself is expected to be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026 in a computer-based format across several Indian cities, along with select international centres. The test will be offered in 13 languages, reflecting efforts to improve accessibility for candidates from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
CUET UG serves as a key gateway for admission into undergraduate programmes across central universities and other participating institutions, attracting millions of aspirants annually. With the deadline approaching, education authorities have urged candidates yet to apply to complete the process promptly and retain a printed copy of their application for future reference.
