Kishanganj: Bihar BJP president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for what he described as his reluctance to speak “openly against terrorism”, while expressing confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure a two-thirds majority in the ongoing state elections.
Speaking to reporters after casting his vote in Kishanganj, Jaiswal said voters were supporting the NDA on the basis of employment and development. “People voted in favour of the NDA in the first phase, and there is equal enthusiasm in this phase too,” he said.
Commenting on a recent incident in Delhi, Jaiswal said it was “very sad”, but added that politicising such matters was “wrong”. “Rahul Gandhi should understand that the country and its security come first. Yet he is politicising such issues,” he added.
Responding to allegations made by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Jaiswal dismissed them as a sign of “frustration”. “He is scratching the pole, making baseless statements because he is not getting seats,” the BJP leader said.
