Claims and Objections Open from August 1 to September 1
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar and all 243 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will begin accepting claims and objections from voters and recognized political parties from August 1 to September 1, 2025.
During this period, citizens can:
- Add their name to the voter list using Form-6, especially if they have turned 18 by July 1, 2025.
- Make corrections or request name transfers using Form-8, with additional declaration forms required for voters from outside Bihar.
- Raise objections against ineligible or bogus entries through Form-7.
All applications must be supported with appropriate documents and photographs. An acknowledgement receipt will be issued to each applicant.
Special Camps from August 2 Across Bihar
To facilitate maximum participation, the Commission will hold daily special camps from August 2, running Monday to Sunday, between 10 AM and 5 PM at:
- All block offices in rural areas
- Executive Officer’s offices in urban bodies (Nagar Panchayat, Nagar Parishad, and Municipal Corporations)
The Commission has instructed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to visit the homes of senior citizens and persons with disabilities who are unable to visit the camps and collect their application forms.
After each day’s camp, the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) will be responsible for organizing all received forms booth-wise and assembly-wise, and forwarding them to the concerned EROs and BLOs for verification and processing.
Instructions for Wide Publicity and Security
To ensure transparency and reach, all Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been directed to:
- Deploy at least two staff members, including a computer operator, at every camp.
- Ensure wide publicity through press notes, banners, and announcements.
- Inform political party representatives and local public representatives about the camps.
District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police or SSPs will ensure adequate police presence at camp locations. Camps will be documented via photographs and videos, and a consolidated report will be prepared by the District Election Officer (DEO).
This voter revision drive is a crucial step ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, aimed at ensuring a clean and updated electoral roll for smooth democratic participation.
