Patna: Gold and silver prices have fallen in Patna’s jewelry market, bringing some welcome relief to buyers during the festive Navratri season. The decline, continuing for the second consecutive day, is modest but significant for those planning purchases.
Gold prices have dropped by Rs 700 on Friday compared to Thursday, with a total fall of nearly Rs 1,000 over the past two days. Jewelry market experts caution that this dip is temporary, caused by short-term market fluctuations, and predict that prices may rise again in the coming days. Nonetheless, the current rates are considered favourable for customers and investors.
In Patna today, 24-carat gold is priced at Rs 113,800 per 10 grams, rising to Rs 117,214 after GST. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold is available at Rs 105,700 and 18-carat gold at Rs 87,300 per 10 grams.
Silver prices have also eased. The precious metal is selling at Rs 134,800 per kg, which amounts to Rs 138,844 per kg including GST, while hallmarked silver jewelry is priced at Rs 134 per gram.
For those exchanging old jewelry, 22-carat gold jewelry is valued at Rs 102,700 per 10 grams and 18-carat gold jewelry at Rs 84,300. Hallmarked silver jewelry can be exchanged at Rs 130 per gram, with non-hallmarked silver at Rs 127 per gram.
The drop in prices is expected to boost purchases of gold and silver jewelry during the festive period, making this Navratri season particularly appealing for shoppers in Patna.
