Patna: Anil Kumar, director of the department of information and public relations (IPRD), visited the department’s pavilion at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday as part of Bihar Diwas celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the theme for this year’s Bihar Diwas is “Advanced Bihar, Bright Bihar”, adding that the pavilion has been designed to provide detailed information on government welfare schemes to the public.
Focus on public outreach
Kumar toured the exhibition showcasing various state government initiatives and said this year’s celebrations were notable in several respects. He also visited the pavilion’s virtual selfie point, describing it as a new and engaging experience for visitors.
The selfie point emerged as a key attraction, with long queues observed throughout the day. Visitors were seen taking photographs alongside images of prime minister Narendra Modi, chief minister Nitish Kumar and customised newspaper-style visuals.
Digital displays and publications
LED screens at the pavilion are being used to present the chief minister’s ‘Saat Nishchay’ programmes across its three phases, along with visual narratives of Bihar’s development journey.
Books, magazines and other publications related to Bihar’s history, culture and development are also available for purchase. The Bihar Samachar magazine is being distributed free of cost and has drawn significant interest among visitors.
Cultural programmes
The pavilion is also hosting cultural performances over the three-day event, featuring folk music and dance that highlight Bihar’s traditions.
Folk artists are also presenting performances addressing social issues, combining entertainment with public awareness.
Several senior officials of the department, including additional secretaries, joint directors and other staff members, were present during the visit.
