Patna: Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, Patna observed Yatri Suvidha Diwas 2026 on June 15 with a series of passenger-focused programmes aimed at enhancing service quality, cultural participation and stakeholder engagement at the terminal.
Ceremony Begins with Vande Mataram
The day’s observance began with the collective singing of Vande Mataram by airport stakeholders, highlighting themes of unity, national commitment and passenger service orientation within the airport ecosystem.

Passenger Engagement Initiatives
Passengers were welcomed with tika-chandan and distributed welcome kits at arrival and departure areas. Selfie booths were installed outside the terminal to enhance passenger experience and encourage engagement during travel.
Inside the terminal, cultural and folk-dance performances showcased Bihar’s traditional heritage, while local cuisine stalls and art and craft displays presented regional identity and craftsmanship to travellers.
A dedicated passenger feedback wall was also set up to collect suggestions, experiences and service-related inputs from airport users.

Health, Environment and Sustainability Drives
The programme included a blood donation camp, free health check-up camp and free eye check-up facility for passengers and contractual employees.
A tree plantation drive was conducted in the airport’s city-side area, alongside distribution of saplings to arriving passengers, reinforcing environmental sustainability efforts.
Youth Outreach and Cultural Participation
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in a painting competition organised at the airport.
Additionally, students from St. Xavier’s College, Patna were invited for career counselling sessions and airport visits to gain exposure to aviation operations and related career opportunities.

Recognition of Workforce
The event also included felicitation of women employees in aviation and housekeeping staff, acknowledging their role in maintaining operational standards and supporting passenger services at the airport.
Airport authorities said the initiative reflects continued efforts towards improving passenger facilities, ensuring seamless operations and strengthening service delivery at the airport.
