Patna: Patna is currently witnessing a period of political uncertainty after the resignation of Nitish Kumar, with no official announcement yet on who will become the next chief minister. The development has created a buzz in political circles, as leaders from the ruling alliance continue their internal discussions. While such transitions are not unusual, the lack of clarity has made the situation more tense and closely watched by the public and political observers alike.
Amid growing speculation, Nitin Nabin has tried to calm the situation by stating that everything is going according to plan. He said there are no disagreements within the alliance regarding the chief minister’s post and that decisions are being taken smoothly as per a fixed schedule. His statement is being seen as an attempt to show unity within the ruling coalition and to reduce rumours of internal conflict.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar is set to take oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha on April 10, marking an important shift in his political role. He is expected to leave for Delhi on April 9 and return to Patna soon after the ceremony. According to sources, he may officially resign from the chief minister’s position on April 14. Following this, the formation of a new government is likely to take place on April 15, although no final confirmation has been given.
The BJP has also stressed its commitment to maintaining “coalition dharma”, meaning it will continue to respect and support its alliance partners. Leaders have said that all decisions are being taken under Nitish Kumar’s guidance, showing that he still plays an important role in the process. However, until a new chief minister is officially named, the political situation in Bihar will remain uncertain, keeping everyone waiting for the final decision.
