Patna: Bihar government minister Nitin Nabin, appointed as the national working president of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday, is set to make his first official visit to Delhi today.
Before departing for the national capital, Nabin is scheduled to offer prayers at Mahavir Mandir in Patna. He is expected to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 2 at around 10am, where senior BJP leaders and workers will receive him. Reports said several Union ministers, including Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta, are expected to be present at the airport.
From there, Nabin will proceed to the BJP’s central office at 6A Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg, arriving at about 11am. Party sources said a formal welcome by office-bearers and workers has been planned, making the visit his first major public appearance in Delhi since assuming the national role.
The appointment was confirmed on Sunday through a letter issued by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, stating that the party’s parliamentary board had named Nabin as national working president with immediate effect.
Following the announcement, Nabin—who also holds the road construction portfolio in the Bihar government—received a warm reception at the BJP’s state office in Patna on Beerchand Patel Path. Party leaders and workers greeted him with garlands and bouquets, while slogans of “Nitin Nabin Zindabad” echoed across the premises.
His Delhi visit is being closely watched within the party, with leaders describing it as the beginning of his transition from state-level responsibilities to a prominent role in shaping the BJP’s national organisation.
