Patna: The Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Science City, built in memory of the late scientist and former President, will be inaugurated in Patna tomorrow by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The facility has been constructed on a 20.5-acre plot near the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and is set to become a landmark centre for science and innovation in Bihar.
The Science City features five galleries – the BA Scientists Gallery, the Basic Science Gallery, the Sustainable Planet Gallery, the Space and Astronomy Gallery, and the Body and Mind Gallery – covering about 7,725 square metres and housing 269 exhibits across 26 themes.

The BA Scientists Gallery showcases interactive exhibits such as harmonic strings, ripple tanks, standing waves, and levitating water. The Basic Science Gallery focuses on modern concepts including artificial intelligence, machine learning, binary systems, and data analysis.
The atrium has been designed with a statue of Dr Kalam, digital panels, murals, and selfie points for visitors. A 500-seat auditorium will screen 3D science films, while additional amenities include a cafeteria, parking, and facilities for children and visitors.

The complex also houses a dormitory for 150 students and three teachers for educational tours, along with a 4D theatre, multipurpose hall, and pre-functional hall. Officials said the Science City will serve as a unique hub to inspire students and engage the public with science and technology.
