Patna: Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made a surprise visit to the Janata Dal (United) office in Patna on Tuesday, where a public grievance hearing session was underway involving party leaders and ministers.
Inspection of Grievance Hearing
At the time of his arrival, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Minister Sheela Mandal were interacting with citizens and addressing complaints as part of the hearing process.
Nitish Kumar reviewed the arrangements on site and observed the functioning of the grievance redressal system. He instructed party workers and officials to ensure that public issues are handled in an effective and orderly manner.
Directions on Administrative Arrangements
During the visit, Nitish Kumar reportedly asked for further improvements in the arrangements, while also noting that several governance-related initiatives had already been implemented and the setup appeared largely organised.
Vijay Kumar Chaudhary informed him that a major meeting is scheduled at the party office on June 21, and preparations are currently underway.
Remarks on Opposition and Security Issues
Speaking to reporters after the grievance hearing, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 12 years in office and said that if the opposition continues with its current approach, the Prime Minister could remain in leadership for another 12 years.
Responding to questions on alleged changes in the security cover of Rabri Devi and Lalu Prasad Yadav, he said the Home Department follows defined criteria for security allocation, which are reviewed and adjusted as per assessment norms. He declined to comment further.
Party Response
Minister Sheela Mandal said Nitish Kumar’s visits help boost the morale of party workers and create a more active organisational environment. She added that regular interactions between leadership and workers strengthen coordination within the party.
She also criticised the opposition, stating that the people of Bihar have already rejected them, while asserting that JD(U) continues to maintain public engagement through such outreach programmes.
