Patna: Bihar chief secretary, Pratyaya Amrit, has pressed for the swift completion of the city’s long-delayed metro rail project after inspecting stations and depots on Thursday.
Amrit reviewed progress at Bairia depot as well as Malahi Pakadi, Bhootnath, Zero Mile and ISBT stations. He was accompanied by Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) managing director Abhay Kumar Singh and additional managing director Abhilasha Sharma, who briefed him on construction status, rolling stock and ongoing works.
Directing PMRCL and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation officials to expedite pending work, Amrit emphasised the need for timely delivery. The inspection came a day after a trial run of the metro on an 800-metre test track at the Bairia depot.
Urban development minister Jibesh Kumar, who attended the trial on Wednesday, had instructed officials to complete remaining tasks within 15 days. The newly unveiled train features a saffron exterior and artwork depicting Bihar’s cultural heritage.
