Patna: The District Magistrate of Patna has inspected the ongoing widening work on the Phulwarisharif–Janipur road and instructed engineers and officials to accelerate construction. The inspection forms part of the administration’s effort to track progress on infrastructure projects announced during the state government’s development push, with authorities stressing timely delivery of works designed to improve mobility and urban connectivity.
According to officials, the Road Construction Department is carrying out the two-lane widening and strengthening of the AIIMS Golambar–Janipur–Painapur–Neva corridor, a stretch of about 10.5 kilometres extending towards the Patna Ring Road. The project was announced during a development tour by the state leadership in February 2025, and the Executive Engineer of Road Division Patna West has been directed to ensure completion within the scheduled timeline. A new flyover near Naubatpur Lakh, being built by the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, is also underway, with officials instructed to speed up progress.

Authorities said improved connectivity to the ring road is expected to support the expansion of western Patna, including areas such as Phulwari Sharif, AIIMS, Danapur and Naubatpur. Administrators argue that better road infrastructure will reduce traffic congestion, improve daily commuting and strengthen access to health and educational institutions in the region. The district administration has framed the project as a step toward long-term urban planning and traffic management.
The District Magistrate added that multiple development initiatives worth more than Rs 10,871 crore were announced for the district during the development tour, with several projects already in implementation. Regular monitoring is being undertaken by senior officials, including the deputy development commissioner, and site inspections are being conducted to ensure coordination between departments.
