Gayaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bihar on September 17, coinciding with the Pitru Paksha Mela in Gayaji, a city that draws lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad. During the visit, he is expected to perform the traditional Pind Daan ceremony for his ancestors and participate in a roadshow, as the ruling party gears up for the upcoming state assembly elections.
Officials from the district administration, municipal corporation, and police have reportedly begun preparations for the Prime Minister’s arrival. Plans are also underway regarding the logistics of the religious rituals, including identifying participants who will accompany him during the Pind Daan.
In addition to the religious engagements, PM Modi is expected to inaugurate key infrastructure projects, including the Purnia Airport. There is also a possibility that he may inaugurate the Patna Metro, following directives to complete pending works at both projects ahead of his visit.
The government has not officially confirmed all details of the Prime Minister’s itinerary, including his overnight stay in Gayaji, but preparations appear to be in full swing as Bihar prepares for its first major political event of the election season.
