Patna: Actor-politician Ravi Kishan met Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary in Patna on Friday and discussed proposals aimed at promoting Bihar as a centre for film production and Bhojpuri cinema.
Ravi Kishan, who is member of parliament from Gorakhpur in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, congratulated the newly appointed Bihar chief minister and expressed hope that his tenure would usher in what he described as a “golden era” for the state.
He said Bihar had received a leader committed to carrying forward the development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former chief minister Nitish Kumar.
Film City Proposal Discussed
According to Ravi Kishan, detailed discussions were held regarding the establishment of a film city in Bihar and measures to strengthen the Bhojpuri film industry.
He said the chief minister had shown “serious interest” in developing infrastructure for cinema and entertainment in the state.
The BJP MP said the government could work towards creating a more favourable environment for film shoots, supporting local artists and giving the entertainment industry a stronger institutional presence in Bihar.
Push For Jobs And Cultural Industry
Ravi Kishan said a film city could generate employment opportunities while providing a larger platform for local actors, musicians and technicians.
He also indicated that the government was considering subsidy schemes aimed at encouraging the shooting of Hindi and Bhojpuri films in Bihar.
According to him, such incentives could attract filmmakers from outside the state and help establish Bihar as a cultural and production hub.
The actor-MP added that a broader roadmap was being prepared to promote films rooted in Bhojpuri language, literature and history.
Bihar Emerging As Cultural Hub
Ravi Kishan said the state government appeared committed to elevating regional artists and Bhojpuri culture to a wider national platform.
He argued that improving law and order would naturally encourage growth in the entertainment sector and create a more attractive environment for film production.
Referring to recent entertainment events hosted in Bihar, he said the state could witness more large-scale award functions, cultural festivals and film shoots in the coming years.
According to Ravi Kishan, the tenure of the Samrat Choudhary government could mark the beginning of a new phase for Bihar’s film and entertainment industry.
