Patna: The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) has been hit by fresh turmoil after two senior office-bearers stepped down on Wednesday, citing discomfort with recent decisions in the party’s leadership.
Jitendra Nath, the party’s national vice-president, and Rahul Kumar, state spokesperson and general secretary, tendered their resignations from both primary membership and all organisational posts. Their decisions have intensified internal dissent within the party, led by former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha.

In resignation letters seen by reporters, Jitendra Nath — who has been associated with Kushwaha for nearly seven years — said he no longer found himself in agreement with “many political and organisational decisions,” making it impossible for him to continue in his role.
Rahul Kumar, who said he had worked within the organisation for the past eight to nine years, echoed similar concerns, stating that he felt “uncomfortable with the current decisions.”

Discontent over appointment of Kushwaha’s son
Sources within the party said disquiet has been growing since the recent appointment of Deepak Prakash Kushwaha, the son of Upendra Kushwaha, as a minister. Several leaders reportedly view the move as an act of favouritism and out of line with organisational norms.
Insiders suggest the prioritisation of family members over senior party figures has fuelled resentment, with some terming the development a “unilateral decision.” They warned that further resignations could follow in the coming days.
