Buxar: Six workers of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) were arrested for attempting to disrupt a roadshow held by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari in Bihar. The incident took place near Ariyanv Brahmasthan under the Krishnabrahma police station area, where Tiwari’s convoy was passing as part of his political campaign. What began as a routine roadshow quickly turned tense when a group of people waving RJD flags allegedly began shouting slogans and tried to create a disturbance.
According to police reports, around 25 to 30 people gathered near the Ariyanv Brahmasthan and raised slogans such as “Long Live RJD” and “Down with BJP.” The situation caused a brief disruption to the roadshow. The administration had assigned Dhanji Singh, a MNREGA Panchayat Technical Assistant, to monitor the event as a magistrate. Based on his written statement, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against 11 identified individuals and between 15 to 20 others who have not yet been identified.
Acting on the complaint, police launched an overnight operation and arrested six people believed to be involved in the incident. Those taken into custody were identified as Sonu Kumar, Suman Kumar, Gorakh Yadav, Rohit Kumar, Arun Yadav, and Mukesh Yadav. The police said that armed security forces were deployed at the time to manage the crowd and ensure the safety of Manoj Tiwari’s convoy, which was able to continue its route safely after the disturbance was controlled.
Krishnabrahma Police Station Officer Sanjeet Kumar Ram confirmed the arrests and said that an investigation is underway. He added that senior officials have directed the police to take strict action against those responsible. “The case is being properly investigated, and more arrests may be made once all the evidence is verified,” he said. The police also stated that they are reviewing footage and eyewitness statements to identify others involved in the attempt to block the roadshow.
