Patna: Sunil Singh, a member of Bihar’s Legislative Council, has publicly criticised Tej Pratap Yadav following the latter’s recent allegations that labelled certain leaders as “traitors” or “Jaychands”. Speaking to the media, Singh said he would respond firmly to any attacks, declaring: “We are not the ones to throw roses, we will throw boulders.”
The controversy began on Sunday when Tej Pratap Yadav sought to clarify reports regarding his personal life, denying any relationship with a woman implicated in an alleged scandal. In the same statement, he accused five individuals, including Sunil Singh, of hacking his Facebook account and posting objectionable content.
Sunil Singh dismissed the allegations as baseless and criticised Tej Pratap for a history of irresponsible remarks. “The people of Bihar do not take his words seriously because even he does not know what he will say and about whom,” Singh said, recalling previous controversial statements by Tej Pratap about senior political leaders.
Singh emphasised his long-standing loyalty to Lalu Prasad, describing him as a guardian and stating that he has supported the Yadav family for over three decades. “Tej Pratap is Lalu Yadav’s son, and his childish remarks do not require a reaction. Mud-slinging should not be met with more mud-slinging,” he added.
When asked about the threat implied in Tej Pratap’s statement, Singh called it unfounded, pointing out that Tej Pratap does not hold a leadership position within his party and therefore cannot take action against him. He advised the younger Yadav to reflect before making accusations, stressing that political words carry significant responsibility.
