Patna: National President of the Janshakti Janata Dal, Tej Pratap Yadav has lodged a police complaint alleging the theft of Rs 20 lakh in cash, gold jewellery and several electronic devices from his official residence at 42 Harding Road in Patna.
The complaint was filed at the Sachivalaya Police Station, where Tej Pratap Yadav accused his personal assistant, Motilal Rai, a resident of Vaishali district, of carrying out the theft. Police have begun an investigation into the allegations.
Cash, Jewellery and Electronic Devices Reported Missing
According to the written complaint, Rs 20 lakh kept as party funds in a cupboard at the residence went missing on June 22. Tej Pratap Yadav also reported the disappearance of a gold chain weighing approximately two tolas, a gold ring, four pen drives and two hard disks.
The list of missing items further includes an iPad, a MacBook, a Lenovo laptop and four iPhone Pro Max smartphones.
Police officials visited the residence after receiving information about the incident and inspected the premises. Tej Pratap Yadav reportedly briefed investigators and pointed out locations relevant to the inquiry.

Witnesses Mentioned in Complaint
In the FIR, Tej Pratap Yadav alleged that Motilal Rai entered or exited the premises carrying a bag on the night of June 22.
He claimed that his driver, Anil Yadav, and another individual identified as Vishal saw Rai scaling the boundary wall of the residence at around 11.30 pm while carrying a bag. Both individuals have been cited as witnesses in the complaint.

Not the First Theft Complaint

Security Concerns Raised
The latest complaint has once again drawn attention to security arrangements at government residences and the handling of access by staff and associates.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the case.
