Patna/New Delhi: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2025, ten children from various schools in Patna are set to meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 9. The event will centre around a discussion on national unity, with students from other states also participating in the programme.
According to Kumkum Pathak, District Programme Officer for Samagra Shiksha, the students left Patna for Delhi on Thursday to prepare for the event. Accompanying them are two nodal teachers, Kiran Kumari and Nishu Kumari.
The children representing Patna include Nandini Kumari, Radhika Mandal, Suhani Kumari, and Muskan Kumari, all 10th-grade students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bankipur; Srija Kumari, a 12th-grade student; Rohit Kumar, Rajneesh Kumar, and Priya Kumari, 9th-grade students of Mahadeva Higher Secondary School, Khusrupur; and Nisha Kumari and Srishti Kumari, 9th-grade students from Kasturba Gandhi Girls School.
The programme, organised by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education, aims to promote national unity among young students. After the event, the children are scheduled to return to Patna on August 11.
