Patna: Political activity in Bihar has intensified ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. While major parties continue to release candidate lists and file nominations, new alliances and announcements are shaping the state’s political landscape.
AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) on Wednesday announced the formation of a third front for the Bihar Assembly elections in alliance with the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) (ASP) and the Apni Janata Party (AJP). The new alliance has been named the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).
Addressing a press conference, AIMIM state president Akhtarul Iman said that the three parties will jointly fight for the rights of Bihar and to counter communal and divisive forces. Together, the alliance will contest 64 seats in the state.

The first phase of polling for the Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 6, and the nomination process for the initial phase is currently underway.
