Muzaffarpur: An atmosphere of anxiety has gripped a village in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district after three teenage girls mysteriously disappeared on Thursday. The minors, all residents of the Motipur police station area, were last seen heading to a Central Bank of India branch at Motipur Chowk to complete a KYC (Know Your Customer) process.
When the girls failed to return home by evening, their families initially reached out to relatives and neighbours. After hours of searching yielded no results, they filed a written complaint at the local police station, fearing that the girls may have been abducted.
“We are poor farmers. We suspect someone may have lured or forcibly taken the girls,” said the father of one of the missing teenagers. “We are in a terrible state. We fear something bad has happened.”
The case has triggered concern in the village, with locals urging authorities to take swift action. Police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation. According to Rural Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh Prabhakar, CCTV footage from around the bank and nearby areas is being analysed. “Raids are also being carried out at possible locations,” he said.
Despite assurances from police, no leads have emerged so far.
