Patna: Bihar Police Headquarters has announced revised rates of travel, daily, and rest allowances for its officers and personnel, benefitting around 1,25,000 policemen across the state. Under the new guidelines, employees in pay levels 11 to 13A will be paid Rs 3,500 per day for hotel stays in Patna and Rs 2,500 in other cities, while those in pay level 14 and above will receive Rs 5,000 in Patna and Rs 4,000 elsewhere.
For employees in pay levels six to nine, the hotel stay allowance has been set at Rs 1,500 per day in Patna and Rs 1,000 in other cities. Personnel in pay level five and below will get Rs 500 in Patna and Rs 300 in other cities.
The guidelines, issued by Additional Director General Kamal Kishore Singh, also detail reimbursement rates for official travel by road, rail, and air based on pay structure. Air travel will be permitted for employees in pay levels eight to ten only after approval. Rail travel allowances cover AC second class for pay levels six to 12, while employees below pay level five will be eligible for bus or auto travel allowances.
New local transport rates include Rs 23 per kilometre for AC taxis, Rs 20 per kilometre for taxis, Rs 15 per kilometre for private cars, and Rs 10 per kilometre for auto rickshaws. Two-wheeler travel will be reimbursed at Rs 5 per kilometre, while actual bus fares will be paid.
The headquarters has directed that travel allowance claims from police posts must be submitted by the third day of every month, reach the police office by the tenth, verified by the twentieth, billed by the twenty-fifth, and paid by the seventh day of the next month to ensure timely disbursement.
