Patna: A woman was shot during a fight between two groups in Bahadurpur, Patna, on Friday night. Police said the fight started between local youths near the slum area. During the fight, one youth pulled out a gun and fired. The bullet hit Baby Devi, a 45-year-old woman who was sitting nearby selling eggs on the roadside.
People panicked as the gunshot rang out and the woman fell to the ground. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition for treatment. As soon as police got the information, they reached the spot, but by then, the youths involved had run away. Police recovered three bikes from the place and started checking CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
DSP Dr Gaurav Kumar said raids are being conducted to catch those who fired the shots. City SP Parichay Kumar also visited the scene and assured that the attackers would be arrested soon. Police said incidents like these show crime is rising in Patna and strict action will be taken to control it.
Recently, there have been many shootings in Patna. Two days ago, criminals entered Paras Hospital and shot dead gangster Chandan Mishra. Before that, famous businessman Gopal Khemka was also shot dead outside his house, raising fear among locals.
