Patna: Pushpam Priya Chaudhary, known for her unconventional political style and reformist vision, has re-entered the Bihar Assembly elections with a striking all-black look and a renewed call for change. Contesting again from Darbhanga under her self-founded Plurals Party, she has vowed to remove her signature black mask only if she wins a seat.
Educated at the University of Sussex and the London School of Economics, Pushpam represents a new generation of politicians in Bihar — one that seeks to break away from the entrenched caste and community-driven dynamics that dominate the state’s politics.
“Plurals means all people — irrespective of caste or religion — working together for development,” Pushpam said in an interview with NDTV. “I don’t know why politicians wear white, so I wear black.”
