Gopalganj: Bhojpuri cinema’s “Power Star” Pawan Singh electrified the campaign trail in Bihar’s Baikunthpur Assembly constituency on Sunday, addressing a rain-soaked crowd in support of BJP candidate Mithilesh Tiwari, backed by the NDA.
As Singh arrived at the rally in Rajapatti Kothi, the venue erupted into chants of “Jai Bihar,” “Jai NDA,” and “Jai Shri Ram.” Undeterred by the drizzle, thousands of supporters — from young fans to elderly voters — cheered as the actor-turned-politician launched into a spirited address.
Pawan Singh praised the “historic development partnership” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, declaring, “Everything is in your hands. You can make someone a hero from zero. You’ve decided that only development will win this election.”
In true cinematic style, Singh then broke into his popular Bhojpuri song “Jodi Modi Aa Nitish Ji Ke Hit Hoi,” sending the crowd into a frenzy.
“I am this country’s Hanuman, and this country is my Ram,” he said, placing a hand on his chest to loud applause. “Under Modi and Nitish, Bihar’s development has gained speed. Press the lotus and arrow buttons — Bihar’s future is safe in NDA’s strong hands.”
Grinning as the crowd roared back, Singh added, “Mithilesh Bhaiya kept saying, we’ll call Pawanva — now Pawanva is here! It’s time to make him win.”
