Patna: Health authorities in Bihar will organise Ayushman Arogya camps on the 14th of every month at government health facilities across the state, including in the capital, officials have said.
The camps will be held at community health centres (CHCs), primary health centres (PHCs) and health and wellness centres (HWCs), and are expected to provide free health services including eight types of medical screenings, basic treatment and the distribution of essential medicines.
Alongside clinical services, an “Arogya Sabha” or health assembly will also be conducted at the sites. The programme will include yoga sessions, teleconsultation services, diabetes screening and blood pressure checks, and will be supervised by specialist doctors drawn from district hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, medical colleges, CHCs and PHCs.
Civil surgeon Dr Yogendra Prasad Mandal said the initiative has already been launched in the district and that efforts are under way to expand awareness and participation through publicity campaigns.
He added that details of all tests and treatments carried out during the camps will be uploaded to a dedicated portal. Training and orientation programmes are also being organised for hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Officials said that around 3.2 crore people in the state have so far been issued Ayushman cards.
