Patna: In Bihar’s Banka district, rural youth and women are rewriting their economic futures, thanks to financial support under the Chief Minister Udyam Yojana. From selling garments to producing ice cream and notebooks, these once-unemployed individuals are now thriving entrepreneurs, offering livelihood opportunities to dozens of families.
Take Mantosh Kumar, for instance. With Rs 10 lakh from the scheme, he launched a readymade garments business that now supports 20 families and directly employs 8 people. His annual turnover has reached Rs 50 lakh, establishing him as a rising figure in local enterprise.
Mukesh, who once earned a living giving home tuition, received Rs 9 lakh under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Yojana and launched an ice cream production unit. Today, he provides employment to 8 others and earns Rs 10 lakh a year. “Now I am the owner of a company and grateful to the Industry Department for this opportunity,” he said.
Ranjit Kumar Singh ventured into notebook manufacturing with support of Rs 10 lakh from the same scheme. His unit provides regular income to two families, and his turnover has reached nearly Rs 10 lakh.
Women entrepreneurs are also emerging as local economic drivers. Bhagyashree, aided by Rs 10 lakh through the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana, set up a bakery production unit that now supports 7 families and employs 8 people.
Ruby Devi followed a similar path, establishing a Poha/Chura unit with Rs 10 lakh. Her business generates Rs 12 lakh annually and provides jobs to 8 individuals while sustaining 5 families.
