Patna: The Bihar government has allocated land to 25 industrial units across the state, marking a significant step in its efforts to attract investment and stimulate economic growth. The plots, covering a total of 12.5 acres, are spread across various industrial zones and include plug-and-play sheds to facilitate rapid industrial development.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) Project Approval Committee, chaired by Industry Secretary and BIADA Director Kundan Kumar. The approved projects, spanning sectors such as IT/ITeS, food processing, textiles, plastics, and general manufacturing, are expected to draw investments worth Rs 168.52 crore and create around 1,194 jobs.
In a related initiative, the state government recently announced the establishment of two Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Kumar Bagh, West Champaran, and Nawanagar, Buxar. Each SEZ will occupy 125 acres, with a combined investment of approximately Rs 300 crore. The zones are expected to generate employment for hundreds of thousands of people and attract industrialists from across India and abroad.
“Through the creation of these SEZs and support for industrial units, we aim to transform Bihar’s economic landscape and provide significant employment opportunities,” said Industry Minister Dr. Dilip Jaiswal.
Bihar has been actively promoting industrial growth through a range of incentives and schemes designed to draw private investment and establish the state as a competitive manufacturing hub.
