Patna: The weather in Bihar is set to remain largely dry over the coming days, but fog and mild cold conditions continue to affect daily life, particularly in the northern districts, where a yellow alert has been issued.
According to the India Meteorological Department, visibility may drop significantly during the early morning and late-night hours in several parts of the state. While no rainfall is expected in the near term, temperatures are likely to rise gradually, bringing more comfortable conditions during the day.
The Patna Meteorological Centre has warned of dense fog in parts of north Bihar, including East and West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhepura, Supaul, Araria and Purnea. Fog is expected to be most pronounced during the morning and evening hours.
Across the state, skies are forecast to remain partly cloudy over the next 24 hours, with westerly winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour. The minimum temperature could dip by one to three degrees Celsius, maintaining a chill during mornings and nights.

Meteorologists said there is little chance of rain at present. While mornings and evenings are likely to feel cold, sunshine during the day is expected to provide relief, creating noticeable fluctuations between day and night temperatures.
A cyclonic circulation persisting about 1.5 km above sea level over northeastern Bangladesh and adjoining areas is contributing to moisture in the atmosphere, leading to fog formation in northern Bihar.
In Patna, light to moderate fog is likely in the morning, followed by generally clear conditions and sunshine during the day. The meteorological department said there is unlikely to be any sharp change in temperatures over the next few days, though a gradual rise could make daytime weather increasingly pleasant, even as nights remain cool.
