Patna: The Central Selection Board of Constables (CSBC) has announced a major recruitment drive to fill 4,128 vacant constable posts in the Bihar Police, offering a significant opportunity for young job seekers across the state.
The online application process will open on October 6 and close on November 5. Candidates can apply via the official CSBC website, csbc.bihar.gov.in, and are advised to complete their applications early to avoid last-minute congestion.
Applicants must have completed their 12th standard (Intermediate) from a recognised board. Equivalent qualifications, including the Maulvi certificate from the Madarsa Board or Shastri/Acharya certificate from the Sanskrit Board, are also acceptable. The recruitment covers posts such as Prohibition Constable, Mobile Squad Constable, and Jail Warder.
The selection process will involve three stages. Initially, candidates will sit a written examination consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks, conducted in OMR format over two hours. Those who meet the minimum passing marks will advance to the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), assessing fitness and stamina essential for police duties. The final stage will be document verification, confirming candidates’ educational qualifications and overall eligibility.
CSBC has detailed the online application process: candidates must register on the website, upload the required documents and scanned photograph/signature, pay an application fee of Rs 100, and retain a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
This recruitment is part of the state’s broader effort to strengthen its police force and enhance public safety, while providing aspirants a pathway into government service.
