Patna: Eighty-one community volunteers from Patna district have completed a four-day disaster response training programme at the Bihar Regimental Centre in Danapur under the guidance of the Indian Army.
The training, organised by the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority (BSDMA) in collaboration with the Bihar Regimental Centre, Bihar-Jharkhand Sub-Area, aimed to prepare volunteers to respond swiftly to disaster relief and rescue operations. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Chetan Kumar and his team, the programme instilled Army-style discipline and introduced participants to values, civic duties and the volunteer code of conduct.
At the closing ceremony, Brigadier Amit Bedi, Deputy General Officer Commanding, presented certificates to the participants and praised their dedication. Ravi Anand, Senior Research Officer at BSDMA, expressed gratitude to the Army for its support and encouraged volunteers to carry forward their training into community service.
