Patna: The Ganga is in spate in Patna, with rising water levels submerging several ghats in the Patna City subdivision and disrupting traffic on parts of the riverside road.
Rani Ghat, Roshan Ghat, Chaudhary Tola Ghat, Gulbi Ghat, Bhadra Ghat and Mahavir Ghat are among the areas affected. Water levels continued to rise at several ghats on Tuesday.
Three Feet Of Water At Mahavir Ghat
Around three feet of water has accumulated on the low-lying road near Mahavir Ghat, making the stretch difficult for vehicles to cross.
The riverside road connecting Gaighat to Kangan Ghat has been affected, with several vehicles turning back after reaching the waterlogged section.
Some vehicles attempting to cross the flooded stretch reportedly stalled, further disrupting movement along the road.
Road Link Disrupted
Traffic movement has also been affected by the severed connection to the under-construction four-lane riverside road near Mahavir Ghat.
At Bhadra Ghat, water has also reached the road. Some people were seen washing their vehicles in the accumulated river water.
Administration Monitoring Water Level
The subdivisional administration said it is monitoring the rising water level of the Ganga.
Officials said barricades may be installed on the affected road if required to prevent vehicular movement through the waterlogged stretch.
