Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the Patna Metro Rail Project, conducting site inspections at the Patna Metro Terminal in Bairia and the Zeromile Metro Station.
At Bairia, he examined the metro coaches, railway tracks, yard and power grid, and was briefed by officials on the terminal’s facilities. The terminal will serve as the hub where metro trains will be stationed, maintained and cleaned, with an administrative building overseeing day-to-day operations.
The chief minister later visited Zeromile Metro Station, where he was updated on ongoing construction. Officials informed him about passenger amenities being built, including escalators, ticket counters, lifts, platforms and designated public and paid areas.
Nitish Kumar instructed the Urban Development and Housing Department to ensure timely completion of works. “We have been continuously inspecting the construction to ensure quality and to avoid any disruption in the project,” he said.
Senior officials including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Urban Development Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Kumar Ravi, Patna divisional commissioner Chandrashekhar Singh and Patna district magistrate Thiyagarajan SM accompanied him during the inspection.
