Patna: Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, has received interim relief from the Patna Civil Court in connection with the June 2 firing and disturbance case at Khan Global Studies in Musallahpur Hat.
During a hearing on Saturday, the court directed that the stay on his arrest will continue until further orders. The matter is scheduled to be heard again on June 25.
The court also extended protection from coercive action to three staff members associated with Khan Sir. Their arrests will remain stayed until the next hearing.
Guards to Remain in Judicial Custody
In the same case, the court heard petitions filed by two security guards employed at the coaching institute.
The guards have been ordered to remain in judicial custody until June 25. Their bail applications are also expected to be taken up on the next date of hearing.
According to court proceedings, police submitted an updated case diary during the hearing. The case diary reportedly states that the firing was carried out with the intention of creating panic.
After considering submissions from both sides, the court decided to continue the interim protection granted to Khan Sir and the three staff members.
Firing Allegations and FIR
The case stems from an incident outside Khan Global Studies on the night of June 2, when a disturbance allegedly led to gunfire.
Complainants have alleged that Khan Sir’s two security guards fired two rounds each during the incident. They further claimed that the firing took place on Khan Sir’s instructions.
Following the allegations, police named Faisal Khan in the FIR registered in connection with the case.
Earlier Arrest of Co-Accused
Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Academy and an accused in the case, was arrested earlier by police.
He was subsequently granted bail by the court and released from jail.
Nepal Death Case Added New Dimension
The dispute later intensified following the death of Roshan Anand’s brother under suspicious circumstances at a hotel in Nepal.
Roshan Anand publicly alleged that Faisal Khan was responsible for the death and sought the registration of a separate FIR. He later staged a protest outside Kadamkuan police station, alleging that police had refused to register his complaint.
Allegations and Denials
Roshan Anand has repeatedly alleged unequal treatment by investigating authorities, claiming that he was arrested promptly while no similar action was taken against Khan Sir despite both being named in related proceedings.
Faisal Khan has denied the allegations and described them as baseless.
With the arrest stay remaining in force, attention will now shift to the June 25 hearing, when the court is expected to consider the bail plea of the security guards and review further developments in the investigation.
