A joint NPCIL-NTPC team is conducting detailed assessments of the locations, examining factors including seismic stability, water availability, land acquisition, population density, and ground conditions. The team is expected to submit its findings to both the central and state governments in the coming weeks.
Officials have said the move is a key step towards India’s goal of achieving 100 gigawatts of nuclear power capacity, highlighting the government’s focus on diversifying the country’s energy mix and meeting growing electricity demands.
