Youth Stabbed to Death in Dispute Over DJ Music in Bihar’s Gopalganj

Gopalganj: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in a dispute over playing DJ music in Nawada village, under the town police station area of Gopalganj district. The deceased, identified as Prakash Kumar Manjhi, was the son of Daroga Manjhi, a resident of the village. His murder has sparked outrage among locals, with the family demanding swift action against the accused.
According to reports, a group of people was playing obscene songs at high volume on Friday when Prakash objected and asked them to stop. This led to a heated argument, which quickly escalated into a violent altercation. Eyewitnesses said that during the scuffle, members of the opposing group attacked Prakash with a knife, leaving him critically injured.
Following the attack, chaos erupted in the area. Family members and locals rushed Prakash to Sadar Hospital, where doctors attempted to save him. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The news of his death plunged the family into grief, while tensions flared in the village.
Angry residents staged a protest demanding the immediate arrest of the accused. On receiving information, police personnel from the Nagar station arrived at the scene to bring the situation under control.
The police have detained several individuals for questioning. Sadar SDPO Pranjal Kumar stated that an investigation is underway, and the culprits will be arrested soon. In response to the unrest, police patrolling has been intensified in the area to prevent further violence.
The killing of Prakash Kumar Manjhi has left the family devastated and the village gripped by fear. The family has called for stringent punishment for those responsible, while authorities have assured them that justice will be served.
