Patna: In a striking declaration that has electrified Bihar’s post-election atmosphere, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Tuesday said he would “take oath as Chief Minister on November 18.”
Speaking to reporters late Tuesday night, Tejashwi claimed that a coalition government is imminent and that there has been a “massive public backlash” against the ruling NDA. “We have received feedback from the people,” he said. “The people who are coming to power have told us that this is better feedback than in 1995. The huge turnout is against the government. Change is going to happen in Bihar.”
The confident remarks came as counting day, set for November 14, draws near. The record voter turnout across the state has already triggered speculation about anti-incumbency sentiment against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s government.
Earlier, Tejashwi cited a report from Dainik Bhaskar and raised questions over the deployment of security forces during polling. He pointed out that 68% of the 208 police observers deployed were from BJP-ruled states, alleging political bias in the election management.
Referring to Bhaskar’s November 9 report titled “Bihar Now 2025 — BJP State Force in Bihar Elections: 4,560 soldiers from 14 states, including Gujarat and UP, deployed at polling booths, CISF strong rooms”, Yadav suggested that the ruling coalition was “fearful of the people’s mandate.”
