Patna: With the final phase of polling concluded, the political landscape in Bihar is becoming clearer as exit poll results pour in. According to the latest Axis My India survey, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to return to power, with an estimated 121 to 141 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) appears to be falling short at around 118 seats.
The survey indicates a strong performance by Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), projected to secure 56–62 seats, marking an improvement from its previous tally. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to win 50–56 seats, while Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) may gain between 11–16 seats. Smaller NDA partners, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), are likely to secure 2–3 and 2–4 seats respectively.
On the opposition front, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by Tejashwi Yadav, continues to be the principal force within the Mahagathbandhan, with 67–76 seats projected. The Congress is expected to claim 17–21 seats, while Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) could manage 3–5 seats. The Left parties together are estimated to win 10–14 seats, maintaining their presence in the state’s political landscape.
Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj, contesting independently, is predicted to make only a marginal impact, with 0–2 seats.
