Patna: Patna Women’s College has started its Hindi Fortnight celebrations with energy and creativity. On 1 September 2025, the Departments of Hindi and Education organised a Word-Chain Competition for first-year AEC Hindi students. In this activity, students were divided into groups and asked to create a chain of Hindi words, each new word beginning with the last letter of the word given by teachers. The contest was not only enjoyable but also aimed to improve students’ vocabulary and sharpen their command over the language. The best three participants, who created the highest number of words, will receive awards on Hindi Day.
The competition was conducted under the guidance of Dr Kumar Dhananjay, head of the Hindi department, with support from faculty members Dr Manjula Sushila, Dr Deepa Srivastava, Dr Sushma Chaubey and Dr Brahmanand. Students from the second and third years of the Hindi department also helped in organising the programme and made the event a success. Teachers noted that such activities encourage teamwork and creativity while also strengthening the bond between students and their language.
On 2 September 2025, the second day of celebrations, the Departments of Hindi and Education held a Hindi Signature Campaign. As part of this initiative, students collected signatures in Hindi from teachers and non-teaching staff across the college. Staff members from different departments took part with enthusiasm and expressed their support for the event. The campaign’s goal was to highlight the importance of using Hindi in daily life and to spread awareness of its role as a language that connects people across India.
Both the competition and the campaign created a positive atmosphere on the campus. Students felt more connected to the Hindi language, while teachers praised the effort to preserve and promote its use among young learners. The events reflected the college’s commitment to cultural values and language pride. With more programmes planned in the coming days, the Hindi Fortnight celebrations are expected to bring even greater enthusiasm among students and staff for the language
