Patna: Patna has received 27 new electric buses under the Centre’s PM-eBus Sewa scheme, taking the total number of PM e-buses serving the city and surrounding areas to 52, according to the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC).

The new air-conditioned buses are scheduled to operate on routes connecting Patna with nearby towns and localities, including Hajipur, Maner, Janipur, Naubatpur, Jandaha, Bikram and Jaganpura ISBT. The additional services are expected to provide commuters with more public transport options.

Buses To Connect Bihta, Hajipur And Nearby Areas

According to the route plan finalised by BSRTC, 10 buses each are allocated for the Bihta-Amhara, Danapur-Shivala and Janipur routes. Four buses will operate on the Paliganj route.

Two buses each are allocated for the Naubatpur, Maner, Hajipur-Jandaha, Jaganpura ISBT and Bikram routes.

The new electric buses are air-conditioned, offering passengers an alternative to conventional public transport for journeys within Patna and to neighbouring areas.

Eight Pink Buses Designated For Women

The new fleet includes eight Pink Buses designated for women commuters. Of these, two will operate between Kargil Chowk and Paliganj, while three each are allocated to the Danapur-Shivala and Janipur routes.

The services are intended to expand public transport options for women travelling along these corridors.

Bihar To Receive 400 Electric Buses

Under the Central government’s PM-eBus Sewa scheme, Bihar is set to receive 400 air-conditioned electric buses for public transport in major cities.

Patna has been allocated 150 buses. Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Purnia are each scheduled to receive 50 buses.

The planned allocation is expected to support the expansion of electric public transport across the state. The rollout will increase the availability of buses in urban areas and improve connectivity between key destinations, subject to the implementation of the service plans.
